Sitematch London is evolving

Thu 5th December 2019, 12:44 pm

The buzz about modular housing is fully justified. As the country attempts to navigate the current housing crisis, it is natural the modular homes revolution becomes an important talking point when considering the UKs best Modern Methods of Construction.

Sitematch London 2020 is taking up that mantle of crucial conversation. For the first time ever modular homes manufacturers and housing associations will get to join public sector organisations to meet private sector developers and investors at its February 2020 event.

LEARN ABOUT SITEMATCH 2020

This week the world’s tallest modular building was installed in Croydon – only 35 weeks after construction started. The two towers in George Street are as tall as the London Eye, and were installed by Tide Construction after the modules were created at the Vision Modular Systems factory in Bedford.

Earlier this year in Bristol developer Urban Creation worked on a scheme that placed nine bespoke pre-built homes into a former nightclub at 50 Park Street. The company worked with modular construction firm Go Modular to create the ready-to-go homes built specially to fit into the building.

In the Sitematch news section we discuss the £30m funding being invested in a north of England construction corridor specifically at a modular factory in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire

We also have a story about how Worthing Borough Council has entered into an agreement with international developer BoKlok UK - jointly owned by Ikea and Skanska - to build sustainable, modular housing in the seaside town of Worthing.

As we talk here about the innovative work happening across the rest of the country let’s also discuss how Sitematch London 2020 is developing further - by offering a broader geographic reach of local authorities than we’ve ever offered before.

Now as well as councils from London and the South East, delegates can meet local authorities from across England.
