The London Borough of Camden and developer Galliford Try have signed a development agreement to build a residential care block in Chalk Farm, and redevelop the existing Charlie Ratchford resource centre.

Work on the new extra-care scheme will begin in January 2019, with completion expected in late 2020. The building will provide 38 affordable extra-care flats and be the new home for Camden Carers Service.

The two developments taken together are earmarked to provide 50% affordable housing. The project is part of the council’s Community Investment Programme, a 15-year plan to build new council homes, schools and community facilities.
