Speakers for Sitematch London announced
Fri 25th November 2016, 11:09 am
The first speakers have been announced for Sitematch London on 8 February 2017.
The event, which takes place at The Shard in Southwark, allows private sector developers to meet with councils quickly and easily to discuss opportunity sites across the capital.
Southwark Council's chief executive Eleanor Kelly will begin by welcoming attendees to The Shard – which is not just a borough landmark, but one of the most iconic structures in the UK.
Kelly said: "Sitematch has grown into a key property event, and I am proud that my borough has attended every installment since its inception. I am pleased Southwark is this year's host borough and look forward to welcoming the delegates on the day."
U+I’s deputy chief executive Richard Upton will address the audience on behalf of attending private sector developers.
Upton said: “At a time when local authorities and the services they provide are facing increasing financial challenges, Sitematch provides a unique forum for local authorities and developers to come together to explore opportunities and ideas.
"I’m looking forward to speaking at the event as I believe partnerships forged between local authorities and developers can create practical solutions for local areas, release sustainable revenues and address some of the accommodation challenges we face. And I’ve got some thoughts on what that might look like.”
