Lewisham seeking JV partner

The London Borough of Lewisham is seeking a joint venture development partner to deliver 250 homes at the one-hectare Besson Street site.

The chosen private sector organisation will develop, market and manage the scheme.

Thirty-five per cent of the new homes will be let at the new London Living Rent rates, which will be set at 33% of the median household income in Lewisham. The remaining 65% of units will be let at market rent.

The project also includes a new surgery, outdoor gym, public space and retail units.

Janet Senior, executive director for resources and regeneration at Lewisham Council, said: “We are excited to be starting this process and looking forward to welcoming submissions from a broad spectrum of developers and investors.

"We want a partner who understands our vision, brings new skills and ideas to the table and can work with us to achieve the most for our residents. Ideally, we want this to be a long-term relationship and so we’d like to appoint a team that can see themselves working with Lewisham well into the future.”

The deadline for a submission of interest is 4 November.

The London Borough of Lewisham will attend the next Sitematch London event on 8 February 2016 to discuss its other development opportunities. Contact Josie Brewer to book your meeting.
