The Greater London Authority's assistant director for planning is leaving to take up a new role at Sitematch sponsor GL Hearn.
Stewart Murray was responsible for shaping the mayor's London Plan and leading strategic planning opportunities. At GL Hearn he will take the lead for strategic direction and new growth opportunities, as well as offering his expertise and advice to clients.
GL Hearn was acquired by Capita in 2015.
Alastair Crowdy, head of real estate advisory at Capita Real Estate and GL Hearn, said: “Stewart has been at the forefront of planning and development in London for many years and he is going to bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the business. Capita Real Estate is going from strength to strength, and Stewart is going to play a key role in our ambitious plans for growth.”
Stewart Murray said: “Over the last year, Capita Real Estate and GL Hearn have built a very strong real estate and development proposition which I believe has the potential to be transformational at the interface between the public and private sector. GL Hearn has a highly respected reputation in planning and development and is very innovative in the way they approach current challenges.”
