Sitematch spawns Hounslow town centre scheme

Thu 12th November 2015, 9:48 am

Following an initial meeting at Sitematch London, the regeneration of Hounslow town centre has moved a step closer with planning permission granted for the High Street Quarter, a scheme by Barratt London and Wilson Bowden.

The project will see a £210 million investment in the town centre go towards 527 new homes (41% affordable), as well as shops, restaurants, cafes and a ten-screen cinema.

The redevelopment of the brownfield site is designed to act as a catalyst for the further regeneration of the area, providing high quality town centre living accommodation as well as a significant new retail and leisure offer. The development has been designed around a new public square and includes a 27-storey residential tower.

Start on site is anticipated in early 2017 with completion in 2020.

Speaking exclusively to Sitematch London, Hounslow director for regeneration, economic development and environment Brendon Walsh said:

"I think you can say this was our first big project to be promoted through Sitematch and resulted in us partnering with Barratt and Wilson Bowden.

"It's a big, bold scheme befitting of a metropolitan town centre and the Tower will put us on the London skyline."
