Mayor of London Boris Johnson has announced he is seeking a development partner for a 2,000 home development scheme in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
He asked the 26 members of the London Development Panel to present their development proposals for the 29 hectare site.
The site, bisected by the Beam River, is one of the largest areas of land earmarked for development currently owned by the Mayor of London and the last major site released for development.
Richard Blakeway, deputy mayor for housing and land, said: "The development of Beam Park will result in a vibrant new neighbourhood with major transport links, providing a new locus of jobs, activity and growth for south Dagenham and east London.
"We’re looking for some truly visionary proposals in response to this exciting opportunity."
