Sitematch opportunity: the former HMP Blundeston

Fri 6th February 2015, 10:11 am

At next week's Sitematch London at The Shard (10 February), the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) will be presenting one if its key development opportunities: the former HMP Blundeston.

The MoJ has said the freehold property has become surplus to its requirements.

Located north of Lowestoft, Suffolk, the 9.69-ha location is suitable for a mix of potential uses, including residential, employment, leisure, care homes and education.

The former prison closed in January 2014 at the site, which currently contains former accommodation blocks and operational buildings within a secure fence. A former prison farm and a visitor's centre are located outside of the fence, as well as leisure and reception buildings.

For more information view this site’s profile on the Sitematch London website.

If you’d like to meet with the MoJ at Sitematch on 10 February to discuss this opportunity, contact the Sitematch team.
