The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has published an updated version of the Land Development and Disposals Plan, which lists details of over 250 sites that will be brought to market by March 2016.

According to the plan, the disposals should already lead to the construction of 17,000 new homes by April 2015, contributing to the government’s target of 100,000 new homes.

Most of the sites will be disposed through the HCA’s Delivery Partner Panel.

Andy Rose, chief executive of the HCA, said: "From 2015, the HCA will take on an enhanced land disposal role for government, adding value to surplus public sector sites with development potential and speeding up their sale to help increase the supply of housing and increase economic growth.

"There are already nearly 70 sites being marketed on our website, and today we have set out a further indicative pipeline that will give our partners development opportunities right up to the end of the spending period."
