Delegates from the private and public sectors are signing up in droves to attend this year's Sitematch London event at the Shard on 2 April.

London mayor, Boris Johnson at Sitematch London

The event offers developers and investors the chance to meet with public sector landowners to discuss opportunity sites in the capital, during a series of speed-dating style meetings.

The 33 public sector organisations already signed up for the event include 25 of London’s councils.

Companies from the private sector confirmed to attend include developers renowned for schemes throughout the capital, including Barratt Homes, URS and GL Hearn.

Sitematch London 2013 saw a 25 per cent rise in attendees on the previous year, with 97 per cent of delegates saying they would attend Sitematch London again, and 94 per cent saying they would recommend it to colleagues.

London mayor Boris Johnson said: "Sitematch is a fantastic initiative which allows public sector landowners to meet developers to discuss all kinds of development opportunities in London, helping to build relationships and bring about deals.

"I strongly urge all those involved in property to get involved to help boost construction across the capital."
