Property firm Tishman Speyer has submitted a planning application to redevelop Eland House, the current headquarters of the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).
The plans have been designed by Aukett Fitzroy Robinson, and include a supermarket on the ground floor, retail kiosks on Cathedral Walk and new offices from the first to the tenth floors.
Earlier in 2013 it was announced by the government that the DCLG would move in with the Home Office to share offices.
DCLG will move out of Eland House in September 2014 after the planning application is granted.
