The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has announced that it will release enough land to support 2,000 more homes by 2015 than initially anticipated.

The HCA’s updated land development and disposals plan now includes 19 new sites acquired from other government departments.

In total the plan lists more than 200 sites, of which 480ha are meant for new homes.

The HCA is planning on acquiring further sites from NHS trusts which could potentially support a further 800 homes, it said.

Sites will mainly be disposed of through the HCA’s developer partner panel.
