In this week's "Getting to know", David Harley group manager (economic development and sustainable communities, tells Sitematch about his favorite music and dream destination.

1) If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go and why?

I really enjoy spending time in Scandinavian countries and would like to explore them more. But because I have not been there yet I’d say the United States and I would probably start in New York.

2 )  Which book or film has had the biggest influence on your life and why?

That is a difficult question! At school I borrowed Graham Greene’s "Dr Fischer of Geneva or the Bomb Party" which fascinated me and helped broaden my outlook and become more interested in reading, including going onto read practically all of his other works. I doubt I would be so impressed reading it now and it certainly was not one of his best novels, but it seemed to unlock something at the time that other books had failed to.

3) What are three of your favourite songs and why?

I do buy loads of music and go to dozens of gigs a year so favourite songs tend to change weekly. I do like a bit of misery and black humour in my music so I would pick something from The National like ‘Sorrow.’ I could go for most things by the Smiths/Morrissey although ‘Now my heart is full’ is a particular favourite and finally something that would really put you through the wringer like Scott Walker’s ‘Such a small love’ or maybe Terry Hall’s ‘Ballad of a Landlord’.
