Sitematch UK announced
Fri 23rd August 2013, 10:55 am
On 22 November 2013, developers and investors will get the opportunity to meet at the Treasury with directors and other senior officers from government department property and estates teams at the first Sitematch UK event.
Departments including the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Health and DEFRA will present all their assets designated as surplus and available for disposal. More are expected to confirm shortly.
In a format similar to the Sitematch London events of 2012 and 2013, developers will be able to pre-book 15 minute "speed-dating" style meetings using the website sitematchuk.com. The meetings will take place at Treasury, 1 Horse Guards Road, London SW1A 2HQ.
The event will also welcome NHS Trusts and public corporations that are keen to have "no striongs attached" conversations with developers about "the art of the possible".
Sir Bob Kerslake, head of the civil service said: "The government's focus is on accelerating the disposal of its surplus land to support economic growth and housing. There is great value in making information available about surplus government owned land with housing capacity to potential bidders, allowing engagement on development possibilities."
Toby Fox, managing director at Sitematch organiser 3Fox International said: "The Sitematch project started off focused on London but the involvement of government departments makes it a truly national event now."
Places will be limited: book yours at www.sitematchuk.com. The next Sitematch event for London councils will take place in February 2014.
