Decline in number of London homes with planning permission
Thu 30th May 2013, 5:24 pm
The number of new homes in London that have received planning permission has decreased in the period between April 2012 and March 2013, compared to the same period the year before.
The number of dwellings with planning permission has slipped from 26,715 to 25,290, in London, according to a study by Glenigan.
That contrasts with England as a whole, where the number of houses with planning permission has increased from 118,723 to 144,427.
In London, however, the number of housing projects that have secured planning permission has also slumped 22 per cent, from 372 to 292.
On the other hand, the number of social housing projects that have received approval has almost doubled, from 3,750 to 7,043.
