London developers are set to benefit from a new plan for how Scottish cities can allocate a £7 million investment fund to promote economic growth and attract investment.

The plan has been launched by the Scottish Cities Alliance, whose goal is to accelerate infrastructure and property development in Scotland.

Priority development projects the fund will target include £1bn redevelopment of Dundee’s waterfront, the £33 million plan to create a transport and business hub around Edinburgh airport and the creation of a £100m business and life sciences park.

Greg Ward, head of economic development at Edinburgh City Council, said: “Over the next three years we will be working closely with investors and developers to highlight the full potential that our cities offer across the whole of Scotland.

“In June, we will be hosting a round-table business breakfast for London based investors at our Sitematch Scotland event.

“The idea to give investors a chance to hear about the full range of development opportunities in Scotland and to enter into face to face discussions with expert representatives from each city council.”

Sitematch Scotland will take place on 13 June 2013 at the Hilton Euston hotel. If you are interested in attending, email Sophie Gosling, or call 020 7978 6840.
