UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) has appointed Nahid Majid as regeneration and infrastructure finance specialist, tasked with bringing overseas investment to UK regeneration projects.
UKTI is part of the Government Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
Its role is to help UK businesses export and to attract overseas companies to the UK.
Sitematch is working closely with UKTI to help public sector landowners and planning authorities engage with UKTI clients.
Majid was previously a director at built environment design watchdog Cabe, at the Design Council, for 10 months.
Her career has included time at Turner and Townsend as assistant director regeneration and, as urban renaissance manager London and the south east, at The Prince of Wales Foundation for the Built Environment.
Majid’s career began in planning at London Borough of Tower Hamlets in 1989.
Majid’s appointment coincides with a shake-up at Cabe, which has lost its central government funding.
Head of design review Alan Thompson, who worked on Cabe’s role at Sitematch London, has moved to creative agency Hayes Davidson.
Design review advisors Jonathan Freeman and Faye Tomlinson have also left.
