Newham's Clive Dutton announces retirement

Thu 2nd May 2013, 3:46 pm

Clive Dutton OBE, Newham's executive director for regeneration, will retire from local government on 31 May.

"I've been very very fortunate to work with some very inspirational people on great projects in great cities," he told Sitematch.

"I have got an open mind about what comes next. I would like to see if there are any challenging and interesting projects that can make a difference to people's lives."

Dutton joined Newham Council in 2009, overseeing the council's huge Olympic Games-related regeneration programme. Previously he was director of planning and regeneration at Birmingham City Council.

Dutton said: "I believe the momentum of the regeneration programme Newham has established will continue strongly into the future.

"The borough has massive potential for investment, growth and greater prosperity with an abundance of land for development, excellent transport links and a young, energetic and increasingly skilled workforce."

Jo Negrini is director of strategic regeneration, planning and Olympic legacy at London Borough of Newham, while Deirdra Armsby, head of strategy and investment, is the borough's Sitematch contact.
