Croydon adopts community infrastructure levy

Tue 2nd April 2013, 11:15 am

The London Borough of Croydon is the third London borough after Redbridge and Wandsworth to adopt its community infrastructure levy.

After approval from the council's cabinet on 26 February, the charging schedule came into effect on 1 April.

The borough has been divided into two areas with different levy rates: Croydon Metropolitan Centre, where residential development is exempt, and the rest of the borough, where commercial development is exempt.

Throughout the borough all other types of development are at a single flat rate, except health, education and leisure uses which are free of charge.

The full charging schedule is available on Croydon’s borough profile on the Sitematch London website, accessible to members.
