City proposes CIL charges

The City of London has published its preliminary draft charging schedule for a community infrastructure levy.

The proposed rate for offices is £75 per sq metre.

Charges for residential developments would be £150 per sq metres for riverside developments, and £95 per sq metre for all other locations in the City's boundary.

Developments with health or education uses would be free of charge, according to the schedule.

All other uses would be charged at £75 per sq metre. The schedule was published on 25 March 2013 and consultation will end on 13 May 2013.
