Powerleague enjoys productive day at Sitematch London

Five-a-side football operator Powerleague development manager Tony Scott travelled from Scotland to meet with 12 councils at Sitematch on 5 March.

Scott said: "Lucozade Powerleague found the event very worthwhile and an excellent and efficient format to communicate our message to senior personnel and key decision makers.

"Several very strong connections were made, that we will be following up in the coming weeks."

Referring to a £20 million investment fund for multi-use games areas, Scott added: "Lucozade Powerleague is committed to creating more facilities within the London boroughs and are in the fortunate position to be able to make this investment at a time when many organisations are facing budgetary constraints.

"Clearly land is a high value commodity within London, which is why a partnership approach with local councils or private landlords is a sensible way to access sites that are suitable and would benefit from our investment to create these facilities.

"We are very much open for business and looking for new sites. Sitematch has helped us reach opportunities for us to invest, a win-win situation for everyone."
