Norwegian based storage and distribution firm Stolthaven Terminals was able to improve their relationship with Barking & Dagenham council after an initial meeting at a Sitematch London event.

A representative from Stolthaven happened to be at City Hall during the event in November to discuss with GLA officials the development of a liquid storage facility in Barking & Dagenham they acquired in October 2012.

The GLA officials were aware of Sitematch taking place that day, and a meeting between the council and Stolthaven was arranged in minutes.

David Harley, group manager of economic development at the council, said: “The Sitematch London event in November helped facilitate a three-way meeting between Stolthaven Terminals, the GLA and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham to discuss plans for the company’s investment in their newly acquired Dagenham site – their first in the UK.”

“Following the meeting at Sitematch, the council has held a meeting with Stolthaven to discuss a planning application for their first phase of their site investment which would generate dozens of new jobs.”
