Mon 22nd October 2012, 1:52 pm
Hounslow Council's new regeneration team will be unveiled at the Sitematch London event on 6 November.
London's Hounslow Council has made regeneration one of its top priorities by recruiting a new regeneration team led by Brendon Walsh, Heather Cheesbrough and Cathy Gallagher.
Walsh, who played a significant role in establishing Sitematch London, joined in the summer from Ealing Council, as director of regeneration, economic development and environment.
Heather came over from St. Albans District Council in October 2012 to take up the role of assistant director of strategic planning, regeneration and economic development.
Cathy has been at Hounslow for some time, as the assistant director for community safety, environment and regulatory services.
Brendon Walsh explains the new strategy of the council: “We envision a new way of working, where we take a proactive approach to finding developers for regeneration sites. We see Sitematch London as an ideal vehicle for the promotion of development sites”.
Walsh also explains: “This year, Heather Cheesbrough, council leader Jagdish Sharma and I will be going to MIPIM to reinforce the exciting opportunities that are being promoted in Hounslow”.

The regeneration is also looking into adopting a local community infrastructure levy. “We are watching closely what other London boroughs are doing at this front, and considering which rates help stimulate regeneration”.
